Vietti Barolo Castiglione 2001 7.5
Seemed like it needed more time. Still a little raw but classic barolo. A little less perfumed than the 2000
WS 92 Bright and plummy with strawberry and cherry character and hints of toasted oak and spices. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a ripe, rich aftertaste. This has stuffing. Better than 2000
App. $45

Smooth and complex. Part of a tasting with the 2001 this one felt a year older and was the better for it
WS 90 A silky and refined red with plum, strawberry and light cedar character. Medium- to full-bodied, with fine tannins and a crisp, silky finish. Lovely red.
