Desert Wind 2004 Ruah 5.5

Nice length and tannins but a little syrupy. Cherry, maybe a bit of spice. Boozy and hot later on. Enjoyed with pot roast on 6/11/07.

“Polished, round and beautifully open in texture, with perfumed raspberry, currant and cedar flavors that keep singing through the well-tuned finish. Has grace and style” WS 90

Vietti 2000 Barolo di Castiglione Falletto 7.5

Very italian. Tannins but not too upfront. Spicey, herbs, leather, maybe some vanilla.
Enjoyed on a surprisingly chilly night with goulash and noodles
90 RP 90WS - RP-A medium garnet, it features dried fruit and flowers on the nose, a balanced, medium-weight palate, much freshness and force on the mid-palate and the close, and some interesting tar and leather notes for additional complexity
